Yesterday, Party Poker announced on their blog that their $2.7 million guaranteed Monster Series would begin on April 29th, and last until May 6th. Two Party Poker tournaments are already behind us – Powerfest Series and this year’s new tournament, KO Series. And now, the time has come for the third Party Poker tournament, Monster Series that welcomes recreational and low-to-mid stakes poker players.
Last year, the first edition of Monster Series had a guaranteed $5 million, and buy-ins ranged from $1.10 to $215. This year, combined guarantees will be $2.7 million, and the highest buy-in is $33. However, the lowest buy-in for the 2018 Monster Series is only $0.44.
The Monster Series will feature a total of 41 numbered events with a three-tier system. Each event will have a low, mid, and high buy-in. Therefore, poker fans will get a chance to play in 123 different tournaments.
Party Poker is one of the best UK poker sites because, among other things, they listen to their players. Tom Waters, the Party Poker managing director, said Monster Series is very much what poker fans wanted it to be.
Waters said, “Players told us they were keen to compete in a series of tournaments that offered a range of low to mid-stakes buy-in levels.” Based on players’ feedback, Party Poker decided to include 6-max and 8-max formats too.
The main tournaments of the Monster Series come with guaranteed prize pools of $130,000 combined. Based on the buy-in, the guaranteed prize pool will be $5,000, $25,000, and $100,000 for $1.50, $7.50, and $33 buy-ins respectively.
On May 6th, the Monster #38-High Championship Event will have a guarantee of $300,000 with a $33 buy-in. The last day of the online tournament will also feature three Ladies-only events. A $500 guarantee comes with a $1.5 buy-in. A $2,000 guarantee has a buy-in of $7.50, and with a $33 buy-in, a guarantee is $5,000.
The eight-day tournament is near, and we can’t wait to hear who’ll be the lucky players to win big prizes.
