Intertops is one of the oldest online poker platforms around. They started all the way back in 1983, and they are part of the Horizon Poker Network. Intertops is an interesting poker website. They are available worldwide, including some parts of the USA, and they have a loyal player base. However, Intertops is not without flaws, especially in the software department. So, what do you say we cut this intro short, and get right into our Intertops Poker review?
How good is the competition
Intertops Poker has a big and active player base. If you want to play regular cash games or you want to participate in tournaments, Intertops Poker will have plenty of action for everyone. Sure, at some hours, you might experience a low number of active players, but luckily, this doesn’t occur that often.
As for the competition, it can be both tough and loose. Intertops doesn’t have many high stakes games, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t come across any high-level players. Even though most of Intertops players are casual and you will mostly play low stakes games, be prepared for some tough competition, especially while playing tournaments.
When it comes to game formats, Intertops is quite disappointing. They only offer variations of Texas Hold’em and Omaha poker. Texas Hold’em is available in limit, pot limit, and no limit variations and Omaha is available in Omaha High and Omaha Hi/Lo variations. Even though in most cases this is more than enough, some players that want to play stud poker won’t be able to do so on Intertops platform.
Intertops offers a stellar tournament experience. They organise everything from live tournaments to daily freerolls. If you want to test your poker skills against other players in a variety of tournament formats, then you will be amazed by what Intertops Poker has to offer. Just an FYI, Intertops is a website known for their casual player base, so if you want high stakes tournaments and tough competition, this is not where you will find it.
First, Intertops is holding three free buy-in tournaments each day. All registered players can enter, and they can win tickets for Intertops’ other tournaments. For example, first place will get a ticket for the Sunday $300 tournament, second and third will get a ticket for the Sunday $200, and so on. You can’t earn actual cash prizes, but these freeroll tournaments are great if you are looking to skip a buy-in for some larger tournaments.
$1K Depositor Freeroll
Intertops is offering a $1K Depositor Freeroll tournament for everyone that has made a deposit in the previous month. So, if you made a deposit in October, you will be eligible to enter the November’s depositor tournament. This is an awesome way to say thank you to their loyal customers.
Intertops is organising many weekly tournaments, so I won’t be analysing them one by one. However, I would like to highlight the $1,000 GTD Sunday Special, The Sunday Six Max, and The Sunday Sundowner Special. These three weekly tournaments are an awesome way to earn a nice amount of cash, as well as test your skills against some of the best players on Intertops website. Buy-ins range from $1 to $50, depending on the tournament. Additionally, you can earn yourself a seat at some of these tournaments by playing previously mentioned freeroll tournaments.
If you want to play on multiple tables, then you will be pleased to hear that Intertops allows their players to play on up to six tables simultaneously in the downloadable version, and four tables in the instant play version. Sure, some other poker websites offer up to 20 tables simultaneously, but as I said before, Intertops aims to attract a more casual crowd.
Intertops Poker has some of the best bonuses in the industry. Not only will they hook you up with an amazing Welcome bonus, but you will also get timed promotions like rakeback deals, reload bonuses, and so on. If you are looking to boost your bankroll, Intertops will give you plenty of options.
First, let’s talk about the most important bonus for all new players, the Welcome bonus. Yes, it’s awesome, and yes, it’s easy to clear. Intertops will gift your account with a bonus of 200% up to $1,000 after you make your first real money deposit. The minimal deposit is $25, and any amount below that won’t get you a Welcome bonus.
To get this bonus, you will have to make your first deposit using the Intertops Poker bonus code. At the time of writing, the code is ITP1000. However, if you are reading this at a later date, make sure you check on their website to see if they have changed it. The bonus is released while playing real money games and you will have 90 days to clear the whole bonus, which is more than enough for active players.
Another awesome thing about Intertops is that they are offering reload bonuses. This means that on some occasions you will receive a reload bonus based on your deposit. This type of bonus is usually available for a short period, and you will receive an email when it’s available. Just make sure you have your notifications turned on, so you don’t miss out when they send you the Intertops Poker bonus code for a reload promotion.
I would like to highlight their Rakeback promotion. Intertops offers an amazing rate of 36% rakeback. They will credit your account for every $10 of rakeback. For example, if you earn $45 of rakeback in one day, you will receive 4 x $10 on your account. The remaining $5 will be stored and released after you reach another $10 of rakeback.
One important thing to know is that if you opt-in for a Rakeback promotion, you will receive Intertops loyalty points at half a rate. So, if you plan to reap the rewards from their loyalty scheme, this promotion can hinder your progress.
Let me just say that Intertops Poker software is lacking in many areas, especially when compared to some of their competitors. Intertops Poker Mac support is nowhere to be found. Only Windows users have an official support with a downloadable version. Yes, even Intertops Poker mobile options are non-existent.
Sure, there are some bypasses to play Intertops Poker on your Mac and mobile devices, but that involves downloading third-party software that I cannot recommend. I am here to review their official services, and not some clever solutions that poker players managed to come up with so they can play Intertops Poker on their Mac computers.
Unfortunately, don’t expect to see Intertops Poker mobile app anytime soon. I don’t know how an online poker platform with such good reputation as Intertops still doesn’t have a dedicated mobile app for their poker services.
Sure, you can log in and play straight from your browser on your mobile device, but that is not enough when you realise what other poker websites are offering. Overall, Intertops software is a huge letdown. The lack of compatibility with platforms other than Windows and subpar visuals are not what I would come to expect from a big-name company like Intertops.
Intertops has a plethora of deposit options. You will be able to make deposits via Visa, MasterCard (debit for UK players), American Express, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe, ecoPayz, Money Global, Sofort, and even Bitcoin. Yes, Intertops accepts Bitcoin payments, which is a big plus in my book. Bitcoin is slowly becoming the go-to online currency, so it’s nice to see when an online poker platform includes it in their payment options.
Withdrawing your money from a poker website should be an easy process with many ways to complete it. It seems that Intertops Poker shares my opinion on this subject because the withdrawal process on their platform is quick and you can receive payments through checks, Bank Wire Transfer, Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz, EU SEPA bank transfer, and of course, Bitcoin. Additionally, if you decided to use Bitcoin to withdraw your money, you will be pleased to hear that there are no withdrawal fees when using this method.
Download or no download
Regardless if you are looking to play downloadable or instant play version, Intertops offers both. Unfortunately, compatibility is a problem. The downloadable version is only available for Windows PC users. Even though it works well and runs smoothly, it’s still some of the most outdated poker software available today.
Intertops Poker instant play version is playable on the mobile devices because they have a responsive website layout. However, the lack of dedicated mobile application is very noticeable. Sure, the instant play version has all necessary features, but we are in 2017, and every serious online poker company should have a mobile app for iOS and Android devices at least.
Security of the poker site
Many companies are not taking online security as seriously as they should. Almost every month we hear of a new data leak from a big corporation. Fortunately, Intertops Poker has taken all security measures, so this doesn’t happen to them. Their whole website, including online transactions, is protected with a 128-bit SSL encryption, which is the industry’s standard.
- Non-stop tournament action
- Awesome bonuses and promotions
- Excellent customer support
- Tons of payment options
- No fees on Bitcoin withdrawals
- Poor software
- Only available for Windows users
- Low number of game formats
- No dedicated mobile app
That is pretty much all that I have to say about Intertops Poker services. As you can see, they are far from perfect. Things like a low number of game formats, no mobile support, and an outdated software are what bothers me the most. Sure, they have an excellent track record with no controversies, and their bonuses are some of the best ones in this industry, but that doesn’t erase the fact that Intertops software could use an update.
I hope my Intertops Poker review helped you to get a better picture of what they have to offer. Online poker sites are not always objective when it comes to this type of reviews. That’s why we, at Poker Sites UK, always try to give you an unbiased look at these online poker platforms.
However, I would also love to hear your opinions about Intertops services. Maybe I’ve missed something, or maybe you don’t share my views. Regardless of the reason, I invite you to leave a comment down below.
