Supermoon is Unibet’s new multi-table tournament that offers players a guaranteed €40,000 prize pool each month. It is a two-day progressive knockout event with a €250 buy-in set to replace Unibet’s poker tour for the UK in the casino’s regular tournament schedule.

The first Supermoon was held on Sunday, May 2, and the event will continue to run each first Sunday of the month.
Dara, Ian, and myself have been lobbying for this bad boy for ages,” said Unibet Ambassador David Lappin. “With no live Unibet events in 2021, the Unibet faithful need to get their whistles wet once a month with something juicier. This is going to be a great addition to the schedule!

Unibet’s Head of Events, Nataly Sopacuaperu, added: “We really loved the UK tour but, with Covid likely having an impact on all live poker for the foreseeable future, we don’t want our players to miss out. Supermoon is going to be something truly special, with an amazing qualifier schedule. There will be tons of satellites running round the clock starting from as a little as two cents. UK Tour fans should also rest assured that all current UK Tour tickets will either be converted to bonus points or Supermoon tickets, depending on their value.

Unibet’s UK Poker Tour was a very popular tournament, running for four seasons before being brought low by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the final UK Tour event, held at Aspers Casino in Stratford last March, the tournament broke all attendance and prize records, with £141,372 in prize money gathered from 714 entries, which was well above the £50k guarantee. British player Lawrence Cullen won and took home £25,500, and several Unibet representatives who took part in the tournament won some prizes, as well.
